Metal Free Fillings / Restorations

Smile Magic Composite resins are tooth-colored, plastic materials (made of glass and resin) that are used both as fillings and to repair defects in the teeth. Because they are tooth-colored, it is difficult to distinguish them from natural teeth. Composites are often used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important. They can be used on the back teeth as well depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay. It provides the beauty and aesthetic capabilities of ceramics with the flexural strength and shade control of resins. Our composition gives it enamel-like abrasion that protects and preserves opposing tooth and root structure. On its own, metal free restorations can be heat and light cured to create crowns, inlays and onlays, and can even be bonded to metal when telescope crowns or implant superstructures are indicated.

Although you may not be able to tell if your existing filling is wearing down, Dr. Nazir can identify weaknesses in your restorations during a regular check-up.
